Make sure that you enter the coupon before you click the blue “Complete Purchase” button, you cannot enter it afterwards If the coupon still doesn’t work, it must have expired or isn’t valid.
This is a bug that only occurs with older versions of Final Cut Pro X. Update to the latest version and it will work.
